Most of the products of the technology today are beyond the reach of our thoughts.

The gadgets today evolve into something into more advance everyday. Everyday there are many innovations that happens that we have never expected. Like the telecommunication technology, in past it is just the technology is processed manually but today, all are automatic and offer things that are so complicated.

One of the innovations on the telecommunication technology is the cellular phone or in some cases mobile phone. Cellular phones are the first wireless telephones. All new cellular phone are digital, which enabled the cellular phones to turn into a smart phone that has access to the internet.

Aside from the standard voice function, cellular phones can also support many other functions and services such as text messaging, MMS for sending and receiving photos and videos and packet switching for access to the internet. Today’s cellular phones still have many other features aside from what have mentioned later. Today’s cellular phones can be
personalized or customized.

In today’s cellular phones, you can download pictures, graphics, and music and ring tones. Ring tones are the most sought after downloadable items. Originally, ring tones are audible sounds made by a telephone to announce that calla re coming in. the traditional ring tone was in the 440- 480 Hz range, but as cellular phone usage grew, it became obvious that ring tone differentiation is important.

Modern cellular phones support a wide frequency range that allows several bars of music to be played. Phones come with a selection of built-in ring tones and accept new ones from one or more ring tone services. There are three common types of ring tone; monophonic, polyphonic and digitized audio. Monophonic ring tones are a series of single tones strung together like a stream of text to produce a melody.

Monophonic tones are not very large, so they can be sent to handset via a text message or SMS. Monophonic tones are for those phones that support one-way SMS and have spare memory. Monophonic tones can be also composed through composers in the phones by entering a string of numbers or text to create a melody. Polyphonic tones use multiple tones instead of just a string of single tones to make a melody. These tones are MIDI files that range size from 8K to 15K and need to be downloaded from a WAP site or sent via MMS.

Digitized audio uses the same technology as MP3 and WAV files. It provides much higher-quality audio and the benefit is that you are not merely trying to mimic the tones of a melody. Instead, you can actually have a snippet of the song be the ring tone. Through this technology, you can also use recorded voice for example a friend saying ‘answer your phone’. Digitized audio can also be downloaded from a WAP site or receive them via MMS.

MP3 has become popular as a ring tone format for it supports voice. Ring tones can be downloaded through the cellular systems or networks or through the internet. There are too many ring tones available in the net. There are a vast choice ranging from hip-hop, rock, ballad, alternative, classical, country and much more.
